Read and send email in the console
The Email section is your own mail reader inside the console: three panes for folders, the message list and the message itself, plus a compose button.
Email in the left column opens the IMAP/SMTP mailbox belonging to your own account. Mail here never enters the conversation queue and no colleague can read it — the reason sits on Connect an IMAP/SMTP mailbox.
Three panes on screen
The left column holds the mailbox picker, the New message button, the Folders tree and the Labels list. The two icons beside the mailbox name are Refresh and Settings.
The middle column lists the messages in the open folder, with a Search mail box and an Unread chip. Search covers subject, sender and preview text; the console states plainly that message bodies are not indexed.
The right column shows the selected message, with Reply, Reply all and Forward. With nothing selected it reads Select a message to read it.
Pages in this section
- Add a second mailbox to the Email section — attach another address and move between mailboxes.
- Organize mail with folders, labels and flags — build your own folders, apply coloured labels and use the Flagged view.
Connecting the first mailbox lives on Connect an IMAP/SMTP mailbox: the connection form, the ports, TLS and how to test before saving.
Worth knowing first
Folders and labels you create here are created on the mail server itself, so they show up in any other mail app opened on the same mailbox.
Pulling mail into the console runs in a separate background process. With that process off the screen still opens; no new mail arrives in it.
Set working hours, shifts and leave days
Build a working calendar in the CloudFly Helpdesk console with weekday shifts and one-off leave periods, so the SLA clock counts business hours only.
Add a second mailbox to the Email section
Attach another IMAP/SMTP mailbox to your own account, move between the mailboxes you have, and read the status badge each one carries.
